You’ve heard it here first! We’ve done our research and if you’re expecting to get engaged in 2024, we’re pleased to say you’re spoilt for choice. Gone are the days of the traditional diamond ring being your only option, nowadays there’s a wealth of designs, from classic solitaires with contemporary touches, to lab grown diamonds, hidden details and bespoke handcrafted rings using recycled gold and diamonds.
Here are the 9 engagement ring trends that we expect to dominate 2024 …
1. Solitaire Settings
Minimalist & timeless, the elegant silhouette of a solitaire ring shows off the beauty of the single diamond. The oval cut solitaire remains a firm favourite, most likely because an oval cut diamond gives a bigger spread for the carat weight as other cuts, and elongates the finger (so it’s unsurprising that a bigger looking diamond and the appearance of elegantly long fingers is popular!)

 2. More is More
We’re seeing a pull towards statement rings with plenty of character, from Art Deco and vintage styles to contemporary designs with an unconventional twist. We love statement engagement rings, such as eye-catching halo designs and rings with double or wider gold bands.

 3. The Modern Trilogy
This classic design, where each of the three stones represents the past, present and future, has been updated, by mixing different diamond cuts and colours. We love this modern trilogy ring featuring three oval cut diamonds.

4. Bezel Settings

A great design that protects the stone and also gives a sleek, incredibly modern look. The protection is created by the circumference of the diamond being surrounded by metal (gold or platinum), a setting that minimises the risk of damage.

 5. Pop of Colour
For a unique engagement ring, one that brings your individuality to the design, we love a coloured gemstone paired with diamonds, or a opt for a colour gemstone mix and match for a playful twist.

6. Lab Grown Engagement Rings
Displaying identical fire and brilliance to mined (natural) diamonds, the popularity of lab grown diamonds grows bigger and bigger. Many customers wish to prioritise sustainability, and what’s more, you can get a much larger diamond with better colour, clarity and cut for your budget.

7. East to West Settings
Take your favourite diamond shape and turn it on its side. Gemstones are usually presented vertically, but when they are put in a horizontal orientation, this is called an east to west setting. This setting brings a trendy twist on any classic cut - from oval or emerald, pear or marquise - so don’t hesitate to take your favourite shape and flip it!

8. Hidden Details
Storytelling is hugely important to our engagement rings, and adding little touches such as a complimentary inscription, or adding diamonds to the setting or inside of the band, make your design truly unique.
Because all of our engagement rings can be customised, it gives us the possibility to adjust and tweak the hidden details so the bespoke ring is totally unique to the couple.

 9. Heirloom Rings
Speaking of personalisation, there is a huge and forever growing popularity for remodelling heirlooms and gifted pieces of jewellery into an engagement ring.
Jewellery that is passed down for generations is incredibly special, and since all of our bespoke rings are handcrafted locally in Ireland, if you have a heirloom ring passed down, or a piece of jewellery you no longer wear, we can remodel the diamonds and gold into your bespoke engagement ring.
